lunches

We have noticed that many students are finishing their lunches and still feeling hungry during the school day. As children grow and stay active, their appetites can change quickly!

Please take a moment to check in with your child about whether they are getting enough to eat at school. It may be helpful to pack a little extra food or add an additional snack to help them stay full, focused, and ready to learn throughout the day.

Warm Weather Uniform Reminder

As the weather begins to warm up, I wanted to send a friendly reminder about our school uniform expectations. Thank you for helping students come to school dressed comfortably and ready for a full day of learning and play.

Shorts:
Students are welcome to wear walking shorts as part of the uniform. Please note that stretchy athletic-style shorts are not part of our uniform guidelines.

Footwear:
Sandals may be worn as the weather gets warmer. Sandals should be black, white, brown, grey, or a combination of these colours, and must have a back strap for safety and comfort during recess and outdoor play.

Thank you for your continued support in helping our students look neat, feel comfortable, and be ready for a great day at school!

A Couple of Missed Details

This Wednesday we will celebrate Earth day as a school.  Students may wear casual clothing!

Next Monday is Grandparents Day.  I have extra invitations if you need them.  Please inform any grandparent chauffeurs that students will be dismissed at 2:45 as per usual.

Waste Free Lunch Week

Next week, our school will be taking part in Waste-Free Lunch Week as we celebrate and care for our environment!
We are encouraging all students to bring lunches that create as little garbage as possible. This is a great opportunity for students to learn how small choices can make a big difference for our planet.
Here are a few simple ideas to help:
  • Use reusable containers instead of disposable packaging
  • Pack drinks in reusable bottles
  • Choose snacks without wrappers when possible (like fruits and veggies)
  • Bring cloth napkins instead of paper ones
We understand that making a completely waste-free lunch isn’t always possible, and that’s okay—every small step helps!
Thank you for supporting your child in making environmentally friendly choices. We are excited to see how our students can work together to reduce waste and take care of our Earth!

Earth Day

On April 22nd, our school will be celebrating Earth Day! Students are invited to dress in blue, green, brown, or other spring colours to celebrate our beautiful planet.

We will also be encouraging waste-free lunches during the week of April 20–24. This is a great opportunity to help students think about how we can reduce waste and take care of the environment.

Thank you for adding this to the calendar for this month and for your support in helping us celebrate Earth Day!

Just a quick reminder to please sign and return the blue report card read receipt by this Friday, if you haven’t already.

Thank you for taking the time to review your child’s progress—it is greatly appreciated!
