Math Mayhem

Each year the HRA grade 11 highschool students host a night of fun Math games for our families in the gym.  This year it will take place on Tuesday, March 5th at 6:30-8:00 pm.  If it’s not too late for your little one, please consider attending and having some family Math fun together!

Bake Sale

On March 5th, the primary department will be hosting a bake sale to support our school’s mission trip to Thailand.  The sale will be open before and after school in the foyer on March 5th.  Each item will be $1.  There will be individually packaged gluten-free items available. Thank you for supporting Team Thailand.

If you love baking and would be interested in making some goodies for this event please add your name to the sign up sheet on Miss Evans door.  Thanks!

March Dates

It feels like the dead of winter outside but we are so close to March (and warmer Spring weather?) already.  Here are a few dates to keep in mind for the month ahead:

Tuesday, March 5 – Bake Sale (details to follow)

Tuesday, March 5 – Math Mayhem 6:30 pm in the gym (details to follow)

Monday, March 11 – Kindergarten dental screening (during school hours)

Wednesday, March 13 – last day of part time Kindergarten before our 2 week Spring Break

Valentines postponed

Well, those 2 snow days were certainly unexpected!  Hopefully your littles had fun in all the snow!  With family day on Monday the next school day will be Tuesday.  Since we missed Valentine’s Day this week we will be sure to celebrate it then.    I will check with Miss Evans if it’s still okay for us to wear Valentine colours and will let you know shortly.  If your child has Valentines to hand out please have them place them in their cubbies on Tuesday morning.  We will be making our Valentines holders and will hand out our Valentines later in the day.  Enjoy your family day weekend!

Dismissal

Mrs. Britz (our library teacher) will be supervising the class for the last part of our day as I need to leave a little bit early today.  You may need to let her the name of your child if she doesn’t immediately make the connection so that she can call their name to go home.  Thanks!

Cold Weather

I wanted to let you know that the children will not be required to wear their full dress uniform on Wednesday because of the cold weather!   I kept my class inside for both recess and lunch yesterday because that wind is sooooo bitterly cold.  However, if the wind subsides we will be sending the children outside.  Please help your child be prepared by sending along warm coats, hats, and mitts.  We believe that children need regular outside freeplay opportunities and that teachers need small breaks from their teaching responsibilities as well.  Thanks for your understanding!
