I did not send home a new bible memory verse this week because I thought we could all use a little break in this busy last week before the Christmas holidays.

Mrs. Brechin – Wednesday
Mrs. Brechin will be filling in for me on Wednesday this week. She has been in to help us in our classroom and in the library so the boys and girls all know who she is. It is going to be a fun day with a special treat in the afternoon for the 20 warm fuzzies that the Kindies earned for being awesome!
Christmas Program
We are now full swing into our Christmas theme and preparing for our part in the Primary Christmas Program on Friday, December 18th. The Kindies will be dressed up as stars. Mrs. Larrson and I will be creating a star headpiece and are asking you to dress your child in a solid black top and black bottoms (or dark jeans) for the performance. Fridays are not our usual day but the Part Time Kindies will need to come to our class that morning at 9. Parents and any friends or family members you wish to invite can then feel free to find a seat in the auditorium. The program will begin at 9:30. We will be singing three songs. I am including the words so that you can help your child to practice at home. Thanks so much!
1. Twinkle Twinkle
Twinkle, twinkle Little Star
Shining Brightly from Afar
Guiding Wise Men on their Way
Showing them where Jesus Lay
Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star
Shining Brightly from Afar
2. Joy to the World – Chris Tomlin
Joy, unspeakable joy
an overflowing well
no tongue can tell
Joy, unspeakable joy
rises in my soul
never lets me go
(Kindies will just sing this part of the song , the chorus)
3. How Great our Joy
(This one has a lot of tricky wording!!! )
While by the sheep we watched at night
Glad tidings brought an angel bright
Refrain:
(Our class sings the echo)
How great our joy (how great our joy)
Joy, joy, joy (joy, joy, joy)
Praise we the Lord in heaven on high (praise we the Lord in heaven on high)
(Refrain)
There shall be born so he did say
In Bethlehem a child today
(Refrain)
This gift of God we’ll cherish well
That ever joy our hearts will fill
Pajama Day Reflections
Pajama day last week was a lot of fun! It felt a little silly to be wearing our jammies to school so that just made the whole day an adventure! Some of the day’s highlights were sorting our stuffies in different ways (Ex. big/little, teddy bears/not teddy bears) in Math, playing “Blanket, Blanket, Who’s under the Blanket,” making butter, and eating yummy pancakes in the afternoon. It was a great way to end our nocturnal theme!
Parent/Teacher Meetings
I will be available this Friday between 1 and 4 if you would like to come in for a chat about how your child is doing in Kindergarten. You can call the office to make an appointment if you are interested.
