Tomorrow I will be sending home your child’s first memory verse:

A = “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”

We will practise this verse together each day at school but ask that you also review this verse with your child throughout the week.  On Tuesday of next week your child will be tested on it.  We have a sweet grade seven helper who will listen to the children individually recite their verse each week.

This is a great opportunity for your child to hide God’s word in their heart.  Thanks for your home support!

We will be going on our first fieldtrip of the year on October 3rd to the Chilliwack Corn Maze!  On Wednesday I sent home a permission form in your child’s folder.  Please fill it out and return it to the school as soon as possible.  If you would be willing to lead a small group of children on this trip please either indicate on the permission form or email me at dmorris@highroadacademy.com.  Our school requires any adults wishing to attend fieldtrips or participate in the school in any way to complete a criminal records check.  You can pick up a form at the school office.  There is no charge for this.  If you have previously had a criminal records check please stop by the office and see if it is still valid.  I believe they are good for a two year period.  Thanks!

Tuesdays are pizza days at Highroad!  Slices are $2 and they are usually quite big.  If you would like to order pizza for your child please fill out the form (providing first and last name, please) outside our classroom door on Tuesday morning and provide payment, either by putting money in the attached envelope or purchasing a pizza card at the office for $24.
